INTRODUCTION
The United States Senate is the upper house of the United States Congress, the legislative branch of the United States Government. The Senate consists of a hundred senators, two respective senators for every state; with 53 senators from the Republican Party, 45 senators from the Democratic Party, and 2 Independent senators.
The agenda item, the Healthcare Reform refers to legislative changes aimed at improving the accessibility, affordability, quality, and efficiency of a country’s healthcare system. In the committee, senators will debate about modifying laws, regulations, or funding structures to expand insurance coverage, reduce medical costs, strengthen public health programs, and improve the delivery of medical services to the population. The committee has a unique rules of procedure which will be published with the study guide.
